A new theme will be featured each month so come to one or come to all!  You are also welcome to make an afternoon of it and bring along a picnic to enjoy with a scenic view of the huge pine trees and beautifully secluded Lost Lake. Registration is not required to attend, just come on out and have fun.

Sunday August 19th  – Barking up the Wrong Tree

With summer in full force it's time to get outdoors and explore the wonderful world of dendrology (the study of trees!). We will be taking periodic tours of the woods to learn the basics of tree identification, make leaf pressings, produce a craft with the needles of our state tree (the eastern white pine), demonstrate how paper is made and even learn how to tell a tree's age by counting samples of rings!

Lost Lake Nature Park is located at 846 Lost Lake Trail in Oakland Township, Michigan.

Oakland Township Parks and Recreation Commission has entered into an agreement with Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve to operate Lost Lake Nature Park; offering nature/environmental education programs.
